Dear Beloved in Christ at Church of the Redeemer,
You all are so dear to me that I grieve to share this news with you. My last day at Church of the Redeemer will be Sunday, November 15.
This news, I imagine, is as unexpected for you as it was for us. From out of the blue, an invitation came for my wife Kristine to consider joining Bishop Andy Doyle’s staff in the Diocese of Texas. We have spent much time in prayer, discernment, and conversation with our kids, extended family, and trusted colleagues, which has led Kristine to accept the position of Missioner for Congregations in which she will be working with the congregations and institutions of one of the Episcopal Church’s largest dioceses.
Kristine’s new position is leading us to Houston where I will likely serve in the diocese as intentional interim, helping congregations in transition discern and articulate how God is uniquely calling them to bear his kingdom in their neighborhood.
We firmly believe this new adventure is one God is calling us to. And we believe God is at work calling Church of the Redeemer and St. Paul’s (Murfreesboro) into the future God intends. Even as we cannot yet see the whole picture.
You have been a blessing to me and my family. I love you, I will miss you, and I will continue to hold you close in my prayers.
